Nigerian singer and Saxophonist, Seun Kuti, says a popular gospel singer is responsible for the arrest of activist Martins Otse aka VDM.
VDM’s arrest in Abuja has sparked controversy online, with several notable celebrities calling for his release.
Seun Kuti in a video stated that his claim is a result of the conversation he had with VDM’S lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
“VDM’s lawyer is my lawyer, and we’re currently entangled in a case with GTB and other banks.
“There’s no bank in Nigeria that’s a good bank,” Seun stated.
Seun Kuti also claimed that VDM was a target of religious bodies and authorities.
“As Federal government is running our country, all these big pastors dey run Nigeria. The people of God are the ones fighting VDM for speaking the truth,” he said.

While advocating for his release, Seun emphasised that religious bodies are the ones fighting against VDM.
Famous Afrobeat star, Davido, is campaigning for the release of VeryDarkMan aka VDM from detention.
VeryDarkMan, a popular social media critic, was arrested on Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an undisclosed offence.
Before his arrest, VeryDarkMan had announced his visit to one of the GTBank branches in Abuja to complain about an alleged deduction from his mother’s account.

His arrest has triggered diverse reactions online, with netizens, including celebrities, calling for his release.
Reacting to the development, Davido, in a post on X, demanded VeryDarkMan’s release.
While acknowledging the public support for VeryDarkMan, Davido wrote;
“Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging, makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
