Nollywood star actress Chioma Akpotha is overwhelmed with joy at her win at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, (AMVCA) 2025.
The show held in Lagos on Saturday, 10th May at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites. The event is geared at promoting the hard work of actors, filmmakers and digital content creators.
Chioma Akpotha clinched the award for Best Lead Actress for her role as Amaka in the Netflix series Seven Doors.
Akpotha took to her Instagram page to celebrate with tears of joy.

She defeated Gbubemi Ejeye for her role in “Farmer’s Bride,” Uzoamaka Onuoha for “Agemo,” Uche Montana for “Thin Line,”. The other ladies in the catergory are Uzoamaka Aniunoh for “Phoenix Fury,” Hilda Dokubo for “Wives on Strike 3,” and Bimbo Ademoye for “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre.”
Seven Doors took home three awards at the event. Femi Adebayo won Best Lead Actor. The series also won Best Music/Score.

Meanwhile, Seven Doors had received nominations in several categories. This includes Best Indigenous Language Film, Best Makeup, and Best Art Direction. The series also got nominated for Best Music/Score, Best Writing in a TV Series, and Best Supporting Actor.
Seven Doors is a Nigerian drama television limited series created by Femi Adebayo for the streaming platform Netflix. The series is in Ilara, Ondo State, explores 18th- and 19th-century Nigeria. It also served as the directorial debut of actor and producer Femi Adebayo.

It is produced by Euphoria 360 in collaboration with Netflix and is co-directed by Femi Adebayo, Tope Adebayo, and Adebayo Tijani.
The series follows the story of Adedunjoye (portrayed by Femi Adebayo) in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, before and after his ascension to the throne as King Adedunjoye. The story delves into his lineage, his challenging reign as king, and his complex marital life with Amaka (portrayed by Chioma Chukwuka) and six additional wives.
