The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2025 edition takes place tonight at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
The event showcases top names in African film and television for a night of celebration, fashion, and recognition.
This year’s ceremony will be broadcast live across all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv, including Africa Magic Showcase, Urban, Family, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo. Viewers can also catch the event via the DStv Stream app.
Festivities kick off at 4:00 PM WAT with red carpet coverage, where celebrities and nominees will make their glamorous entrances. The main awards ceremony follows at 7:00 PM WAT. This honours the best performances and productions in African cinema over the past year.

The 2025 AMVCA includes 28 award categories, with 18 decided by a panel of industry professionals and 10 determined through public voting.
A notable addition this year is the introduction of the Best Music Score category. This aims to spotlight the work of composers and sound designers who enhance storytelling through music.
With a strong lineup of talent and growing global recognition, the AMVCA 2025 is poised to be one of the standout entertainment events of the year.

The duo stood out among other contestants with their elaborate traditional attire that celebrated Nigerian heritage. Liquorose appeared in a bead-embellished ensemble complete with coral accessories and an ornate headpiece.

Prince, a former Mr. Nigeria, donned a regal, embroidered outfit accessorised with vintage-inspired pieces that reflected his royal lineage.
Other notable appearances included Neo and Venita Akpofure, who also made strong cultural fashion statements. However, it was Liquorose and Prince who clinched the top style honours, each receiving a cash prize of N1 million from Goldberg for their wins.
