Chris Brown Remanded In Custody Over 2023 Bottle Attack

American R&B superstar Chris Brown has been remanded in custody. This comes after he appeared in court over an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023.

The 36-year-old American artist was arrested on Thursday, May 15th, at The Lowry Hotel in Salford.  He was later charged with grievous bodily harm following the alleged assault at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.

Brown, often called by his nickname Breezy, is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle during the incident.

The Grammy winner had been in Manchester preparing for his upcoming UK tour, which includes performances at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in June and July.

During the hearing at Manchester magistrates’ court, Joanne Hirst, the judge, ruled that the case was too serious for a magistrates’ court.

Hirst said the case will instead proceed to Southwark Crown Court in London, with the next hearing set for June 13.

The district judge also declined an application for bail from lawyers for Brown.

Chris Brown, dressed in a plain T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms, had been scheduled to perform in Amsterdam on June 8, before continuing to Germany and then the UK.

Ahead of the hearing, fans gathered outside the courthouse in support of the singer.

Diaw filed a civil lawsuit against Brown, seeking $16 million (£12 million) in damages for injuries and losses stemming from the incident.

Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani, aka Ice Prince, says he wishes he could quit smoking.

The Plateau-born artist stated that his knowledge of how to roll cannabis made it difficult to give up the habit..

Ice Prince said he regrets learning how to roll cannabis. He further explained that if he didn’t know, he would have been a moderate smoker or probably wouldn’t smoke at all.

In a recent episode of the Konnected Minds podcast, the Oleku superstar said,

“One of the things that I wish I could unlearn is how to roll cannabis. I wish I had never learned that because if I hadn’t learned it, I would probably smoke with a bit of moderation or not even smoke.

“But because I know how to roll, I smoke whenever I wake or in the studio. I don’t let anyone roll cannabis for me. Don’t do drugs, I don’t mix cannabis with any crazy stuff. I wish I had never learn how to roll.”
