Former US First Lady Michelle Obama has advised single women to be strategic when choosing their partners.

Michelle Obama highlighted that choosing a partner should be similar to choosing players who are adaptable and can play multiple roles rather than just one, using the example of a basketball team.

“You don’t want to marry a man who is like ‘I don’t cook. ’ It’s like, well, what happens if I can’t cook?”

she said, emphasising that marriage requires mutual support and flexibility, particularly during unpredictable times.

She also emphasised the unpredictability of life and the necessity for both couples to be ready to deal with difficulties as they come up.

Mrs Obama emphasised that both people should be prepared to help out around the house, whether it’s during pregnancy, sickness, or unanticipated events. Also, she emphasised the need for shared responsibility in a relationship by saying,

“Life is just so unpredictable.”

Michelle also advised women to be financially literate and not rely solely on their partners to manage finances.

“Or if you’re the woman and you can’t balance the checkbook because you’ve left that to him. Life is too complicated for two partners not to be real equals in it.”

In a powerful conclusion, Michelle encapsulated her advice in a heartfelt message.

“Find a partner who isn’t just willing to divide and conquer but who’s capable of covering for you during life’s unpredictable moments.” This advice serves as a reminder that in relationships, true partnership requires flexibility, shared responsibility, and a mutual commitment to handling life’s challenges together.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama, has put rumours of her divorce from former president, Barack Obama to rest.

The 61-year-old attorney cleared the air in a recent chat with Hollywood actress, Sophia Bush, for an episode of her podcast, Work in Progress.

She clarified that she decided not to attend President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Donald Trump’s inauguration for herself.

Speculations about their divorce began to fly in the air after her noticeable absence at both crucial political events.

Debunking the rumours, Michelle Obama, however, pointed out that disappointing people is something that many women struggle with.
