Pastor Jerry Eze, the convener of the globally followed online prayer platform, New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has revealed that he once doubted himself before going into full time ministry.
Eze made this confession during a recent appearance on the WithChude Live podcast, where he recounted his personal struggles and moments of uncertainty following his resignation from a promising career.
Before launching into full-time ministry, Eze worked as a communications specialist with the World Bank’s HIV/AIDS project and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). However, he admitted that after stepping away from his professional path, he found himself jobless and plagued by doubt.
“Oh yes, I remember a month after I resigned, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life,” he said. “You read the Bible, pray, and have nobody to preach to. I felt like, can God really make me jobless? Because I love doing something.”
Eze explained that the season of uncertainty turned out to be a divine moment of preparation for the global impact of NSPPD, which now attracts millions of viewers daily.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, may be forced to shut down its operations in Nigeria. This comes after a tribunal insisted that it must pay the $220 million fine slapped on it in July 2024.
Meta was also asked to pay the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) an additional $35,000 as the “cost of investigation.”
The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) fined the company N60bn ($37.5m) and the Nigerian Data Protection Commission $32.8m, bringing the total to $290.3m.
